Whatever brought you to my fundraising page, it's good that you are here. My girl Flannery O'Connor writes that "Jesus thrown everything off balance...and if He did what He said He did, then it's nothing for you to do but throw everything away and follow Him." If you're wondering how I've got the gall to ask for your charity again, it's as simple as that: I believe Jesus did what He said He did, and so I'm throwing everything away to follow Him.

Having just graduated from college, I've been called to the unique opportunity of serving as a full time missionary with Life Teen, a movement within the Catholic Church committed to leading teens closer to Christ. I'll be living and serving at Camp Hidden Lake, Life Teen's mission base in Dahlonega, GA. What this means, practically, is that I'm dependent on the kindness of people like you, who join me in this mission by supporting me with your donations and prayers. But this is about more than money, I promise you. In mission partnering with me, you're actively being Christ's hands and feet; I just get to be the donkey—fine, the ass—that Christ rides in on.

If you've got qualms about the ministry of Life Teen or the Church, let me share with you what our mission looks like this upcoming year: journeying with teens at our local parish, ministering to the retreatants who come to Hidden Lake on weekends, serving at Life Teen's mission base in Haiti, leading a Bible study for victims of domestic abuse, feeding and discipling the homeless in Atlanta, and a whole lot more. All this to say, it's good and important work, a mission I'm deeply confident in.

Pope Francis writes, "The Gospel is a message which is never out of date because it reaches that part of us which nothing else can reach. Our infinite sadness can only be cured by an infinite love." Any and all of your support is contributing toward those ends: meeting the sorrows of the world with the fullness and unfailing abundance of Christ's love, to quote Augustine.

If this is something you'd consider getting behind, here are some ways you can help:

1) Prayers: if you know me, you know how much I need them (eg. still put my pants on backwards some mornings)

2) Monthly or one-time tax deductible donations (online or via mail)

3) Share the mission with friends or family or anyone with a pulse!

Thanks so much for your prayers and donations, and for reading this overwrought plea in the first place. Know that I'll be praying for you this year.
