Blessed to be back!

To say that this past year was amazing would be an understatement! My formation year as a Life Teen Missionary was the most challenging, but the most rewarding year I have every experienced in my life.

As a missionary we based our life on three main pillars. Through these three pillars we were able to learn how to become better missionary disciples in the world.

1. Community

2. Formation

3. Prayer

Our community consisted of about 20 men and women who all live at Hidden Lake. By living in community I learned how to love and serve my brothers and sister at all times. This challenged me to live into one of the biggest growing points this year... Holy Detachment! What I have is not my own. Everything given to me is from God and living in community was the perfect opportunity for me to learn how to detach from claiming things as my own.

Prayer is the foundation on which our community thrives. We go to daily Mass together, pray a holy hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament, and pray Morning and Night Prayer. This is the heartbeat of our life and when we aren't rooting our daily lives in Jesus Christ, our community life starts to suffer. We also serve in our local parish as the core team for the high school and middle school youth groups. This opportunity allows us to grow in discipling teens that we see on a regular basis.

Formation this year came in all shapes in sizes, from weekend retreats to 7 weeks of mentoring college students who served as summer missionaries. We also went to Haiti for 10 days, led work projects, and prayed through spiritual reading as a mission class. All of these serve to help us become better missionary disciples. These were the most challenging parts of the mission year, but they also gave me countless opportunties to grow.

I am so incredibly thankful for all of the people who made this past year a reality for me!

Whats Next?

This next year as a missionary I will have a different role. I will now be helping manage logistics for all of Life Teens mission bases (Covecrest, Hidden Lake and Haiti). This job will keep me busy doing jobs like finances, booking flights and formation guests, arranging food for the 8-day silent retreat, contacting new appicants for missions, and managing short term mission trips to our base in Haiti! All of these jobs are things that bring me to life and live into the skills that God has blessed me with.

I can't do this alone though!

I need your help so that I can keep doing what I do best! My goal for this year is $18,000 (WOAZAH). The first $4,800 ($400 per month) goes straight to Life Teen to pay for my housing, water, electric, etc. The other $13,200 goes directly to me to pay for my student loans, cell phone, insurance, food, and holiday travel.  There are a few ways to help me out!!

Prayer, Partner and Pass it on.

1. Prayer- The foundation of this mission is prayer.  We are not able to "Lead teens closer to Christ" without spiritual support.

2. Partner- Any donation from $5-$5,000 goes a long way. My goal is for 50 people to join me on this mission for $30 a month or a one time donation of $360. Thats only $1 a day to help me continue on in this mission. If 50 people can join me for $360 or $30 a month, I will reach my goal of $18,000
