"No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples" –Blessed Pope John Paul II.
Two years ago, my family and I felt called to fully devote ourselves to answering this mandate of proclaiming Christ to all, particularly the youth. After a year of formation and lots of prayer and discernment, we have been sent out by the Lord, the Life Teen community, and all who support us through prayers and finances, to answer this call in a radical way: as Life Teen missionaries serving in Haiti for the next 2 years (maybe more).
In October 2012, we, along with our then 2 month son, and 2 other LT missionaries, arrived in Haiti with great zeal and passion to "Lead Teens Closer to Christ". We have had our challenges adapting to life in Haiti. However, we believe in the Gospel promise that "My yoke is easy, and my burden light" and we join our suffering to the cross as we bring the victory of the cross to the young people of Haiti.
Our Life Teen mission base, John Paul II Center for the New Evangelization, has been a fountain of grace for the diocese in which we live and serve. The Lord is moving and working miracles. Great conversions have taken place and teens have dropped their worship of false God's and returned home to the one true God, adults who have been living in sin for years are now getting married. Priests, religious, and laity have been renewed in their vocation and we are so blessed and humbled that The Lord has invited us to be part of this. However, we cannot do it alone so we need the Church (you!) behind us in order to live out this mission that the Lord has called us to.
Some give by going on mission, others by giving to the mission but without both there is no mission. Our prayer partners and mission partners are part of this mission just as much as we are. Prayers are what sustain us so please pray for us daily. Also, as missionaries we solely rely on God's providence so please prayerfully consider being part of the mission through your financial support. The moment is now for a NEW EVANGELIZATION.
Will you be part of God's mission?
