My name is Mark Bocinsky and I am a Life Teen Missionary.

In high school, I had growing relationship with God.  After Sophomore year I asked my parents if I could transfer from public school to Catholic school so I could be more surrounded by my faith.  I was a leader in the Youth Group and I was slowly growing in spiritual maturity.

In college, a great sense of hubris kicked in.  I felt I had it all together and that I didn't need anyone else to tell me how to live my faith or even moreso, how to live at all.  I faded away from any kind of moral community and found myself amongst friends who lived the party lifestyle.  I fell away from all that I had believed in.

God slowly won me back.  I realized that I had become a meaner person and was much less joyful.  I was all take and no give and the happiness I found was fleeting.  I took a couple of steps back toward the right path by going on a Catholic Student Center retreat and by making friends with some good people. Soon enough, I was back on track.  

Everything wasn't perfect but at least I was headed the right direction again.

Looking back, I'm in awe at how I could spend 4 years (in high school) discovering my faith intellectually, spiritually and emotionally and so quickly live a life that showed no traces of morality.  What went wrong?  While it wasn't entirely the fault of my Youth Group leaders, I now see the need for people to invest in teenagers. People who will not just teach or counsel but who will truly journey with teenagers.  True discipleship.

My passion for teenagers comes from the reality that most teens are just beginning to make important life decisions; one of them being whether or not they are going to believe in God and live a life of faith.  I want to make a difference by meeting teenagers in this moldable time of life. I want to have a positive impact on their life by my witness of love and service of God.

Life Teen is led by the Spirit and committed to consistent and dynamic Youth Ministry.  I believe in what they do and I want to support this movement with my life.

I am entering into my second year as a Life Teen Missionary and I truly want you as my Mission Partner.  As a Mission Partner, you commit to praying for me every day, keeping up with my mission as much as you can through monthly emails I will send and prayerfully considering whether the Lord is calling you to make a financial donation to my mission.  As a Mission Partner, I commit to praying for you persistently by name and keeping you updated on how God is moving in my mission through monthly updates and intermittent blog posts.
